INTRODUCTORY PREFACE

Here are some of the major outputs that have made throughout the month of August at around Santiago de la Espada. Still others remain in the memory so we have enjoyed with the same intensity.

Greeting from these lines to our friends Johnny (the priest, Pantani up a port), Alberto (a gentleman on the bicycle), Emilio (the record) and Nacho (our team leader). In addition, naming several friends as Jose Lopez and Manolo (sliver), who have signed up with us way out in the afternoon.

We released the Band Cycling Jersey High Segura, but more importantly we have created the basis to form a group of friends who intends to explore, discover and enjoy on the bike, old roads and trails of our beautiful land. ROUTE 3

FAT HEAD - WIDE - MASS AND BACK BRACE

As always we do a path "larguilla" we were early in the usual starting point (Hotel San Francisco), the left was for 7 am, and not lose the habit I arrived a little late, but not before sending the message to Manolo saying that I'm coming, this time we met: Nacho, Juan, Alberto, Manolo and I (Julian), ready to crown the Depth of the Mass (1796m) summit to which he had wanted since he had gone on foot and by car, but I did it by bike.
Getting out from Santiago de la Espada and pass Gorda and then head to prop up, and worst, it would be too beaten back, we loaded the bikes on cars Manolo and Juan and headed for the drying of hams on Mansegoso where a little farther out the trail of the jet source from where we started and finished the route.

bikes went down and met with the first and only puncture of the day, Nacho betrayal punctured output from a couple of days, but like many cameras has now placed it under before I got to put the front wheel of my bike. Progress
started, a drop virtually to crossing that leads to road from which we started toward the right, removing the top 3kms strong auque is in good shape very loose gravel at the risk that it implies down, just side is the sale of the Fisherman, where there is a small bar, just see the bar and hear the first comments we stood around ehh! ... Although there was a temptation to stop for a coffee, but in the end follow the road to Sale Rampi, from which the ascent to the widths and yes, here and the ascent will take us to the Depth of the Mass, because except for some rest is almost all uphill, more or less pronounced. We headed for the village of Broad, which we passed first, then the village of Prado Maguilla (where just the "asphalt", the asphalt road that passes through these two villages are full of potholes and some can stick to bike) and dirt track looking for the farmhouse of the Cañada del Sauce from the rising of the junction and leads directly to the top (the crossing is marked and crosses a stream). On the rise and each at their own pace and has no consequences as to raise some repechillos to bring them, especially the latter, apart from its slope joins are full of loose stones where the bike just "grab" I and a few more turn up the last of all pushing the bike. Reluctantly, at least on my part, since a few months had risen to head Gorda where we were and I was very funny top with a raise from the sale of Fisher to the junction to be Fat Head's village, we started the climb, about 5 km long with an average gradient of 6.5%, topped with hot burning and that the rise was of gravel, the first km is some rest and even a little down, but these were eternal, are continued upward without any breaks, and it was here and everyone, except it's Nacho a machine, rose as he could, once again gathered at the crossing and all more or less together we went to search for cars, but how could it be otherwise after the sustained climb had me flip the destination reserved on the back of the thigh, in a lost repechillo foot pedal and pull the song (I know, I have to put clipless pedals), luckily it was just a mile from the car.

Overall We left about 51kms baja.Y up-and-ale, the bike already has the notch in the strut of the Mass, but must be repeated ..... someday.
